El Tintero: politics, technology, and other important stuff

Han sido ayer, en varios paises, las elecciones para elegir a los “EuroDiputados.” De espeial interes para nosotros, era España, pais que sufrio hace algunos meses un terrible atentado, y a los dos dias fueron las elecciones Presideciales, las cuales gano Rodriguez Zapatero.
Ayer a última hora, los Populares estaban muy contentos, debido a su rápida recuperación, aun cuando perdieron por 1 o 2 puntos porcentuales.
Finalmente, en la UE el Partido Popular Europeo tendra mayoria.
es muy interesante notar la abstención tan grande en todos los paises. Por ej, en España hacia mas de 20 años que no votaba tan poca gente. Aun en paises como Chipre y Grecia, en donde el voto es obligatorio el desinteres fue el ganador de la jornada electoral. En Inglaterra, sucedio algo muy interesante. El UKIP (United Kingdom Independent Party) ganó 12 asientos en el Parlamento Europeo. Decidí averiguar un poco mas sobre la plataforma de este partido, entre a sus ‘metas‘ y en las primeras lineas, se lee:
The UK Independence Party is committed to withdrawing Britain from the European Union. UKIP believes that this is not only bad for Britain’s economy and prosperity, but it is an alien system of government that will ultimately prove to be totally unacceptable to the British people. UKIP would replace Britain’s membership of the European Union with the kind of agreements on free trade and co-operation that we thought we had signed up to when we first joined what was then called the European Community.
Esa es su bandera. Y al lograr 12 asientos, esto nos deja ver que muchos Ingleses no quieren pertenecer a la UE.
